Jill Wintersteen's Beachy Baby Shower At Venice Beach

Salt air, surfboards, sun tan - what do they all have in common? Jill Wintersteen's epic beachy baby sprinkle - that's what! I was thrilled beyond measure when I was asked a while back by the Spirit Daughter's CEO, Jill Wintersteen to capture this chapter of her magical momhood.

I drove up to a penthouse in Venice Beach, which was where Jill had planned the shower with Detail Touch Events and By Inspired PR. If I haven't been raving about it already, a beachy aesthetic adorned the event with a natural ocean backdrop and sea elements in the midst.

The design details interspersed the location perfectly aligned with the theme. It was as if the ocean was brought to life with coral splashes and cool ocean-blue tones.

Florals by Precious and Blooming did a fantastic job of knitting chic with a beachy vibe. To give the location a more laid-back, mellow look the seating area was specially padded by Folklore with rattan furniture and sweet pastel plushies.

The guests were greeted by a magnificent grazing table organized by The Seed that gave an assortment of options for snacking, mingling, and merrymaking. I especially loved the tiny cupcakes with little red heart carvings that looked so adorable on the table.

Our mom-to-be, Jill, was also dressed in a beachy blue, polka-dot, floral-carved beach dress that gave off a cool-mom-vibe. The guests were also dressed in airy outfits, something that further solidified the beach vibe.

As a photographer, I love a themed photo booth because it collates the pictures with perfection. For Jill's baby sprinkle, life-sized surfboards were put up as photo backdrops, and you better bet that the guests had their share of fun with them.

There was another unique outlet for the guests where they could write seashell love letters to the baby. Besides, I loved the fact that the sprinkle was gender neutral and the details naturally flowed with the overall theme so much so that any onlooker would instinctively know that "The baby's on board!"
