Today, I'm taking you behind the lens of one of my favorite Fall weddings this year. Alessia and Ryan's wedding at the Maxwell House, Pasadena, was one for the books.
The Wedding Location: Maxwell House, Pasadena
Nestled in the heart of Downtown Old Pasadena, the Maxwell House stands out thanks to its unique antique charms. The Maxwell House is a historic building with a lot of character and a quintessential old Pasadena vibe. Rated 4.8 stars on the Wedding Wire, it's one of the go-to favorites of couples looking for traditional and boutique weddings. The antique buildings feature a sprawling ballroom with a grand staircase, outdoor patios, and an upper mezzanine.
The Decor at Alessia & Ryan's Wedding
Agnes at A Fabulous Soiree did a fantastic job bringing out a Fall vision for Alessia and Ryan's wedding. The pastel flowers were organized neatly in vases with a lot of clear, transparent stationery to add an extra class. The primary palette was a soft pink with hints of gold, which looked absolutely stunning. One of the highlight decor pieces for me was the standalone mirror setup inside the hallways. The mirror came with a gold frame and had Alessia & Ryan's names and the wedding dates imprinted on it in white. It housed the details for the seating arrangement – another unique addition to the wedding sparkle.
Alessia & Ryan's Wedding Look
For the wedding, Alessia chose a V-necked lace gown by Vivienne Atelier. She paired it with soft make-up and drop pearl earrings. The final look was ethereal – she looked like the princess every bride dreams of being at their wedding. Conversely, Ryan's grey tux with salmon pink necktie perfectly complemented Alessia's wedding look. He was in a Men’s Wearhouse tux with a brown leather watch, adding a modern elegance to his look.
Alessia & Ryan's First Look
Alessia and Ryan headed out for the first look an hour before the wedding ceremony. Alessia was assisted by her bridesmaids, who were dressed in peach-colored gowns. They met in an outdoor pathway with roses blooming in the gardens. On exchanging their first glance, the couple broke into the widest grin and teary eyes. It was a picture-perfect moment!
Alessia & Ryan's Wedding Ceremony at The Maxwell House, Pasadena
After portrait shots of the couple (and their beautiful dog!) amid the gorgeous exteriors of the Maxwell House in Pasadena, we headed inside for the wedding ceremony. The apricot walls with antique brown doors posed perfect backdrops to their wedding. I personally loved the unique ceremony location indoors, with light shining through the sky-high windows. It exuded the Fall vibe with different shades of orange and pink florals and peachy walls. The couple exchanged their "I do's" under a stunning flower arrangement.
The Wedding Reception
After the wedding excitement settled, Alessia & Ryan arranged for an al fresco dinner in the courtyard, then moved the reception inside for their dancing. The couple had their first dance on the hardwood floor, smiling and swirling. Oh, what a pretty sight! It was a lively reception inside. The couple's family even danced the tarantella, a traditional Italian dance. Relatives had traveled from Italy to California for their wedding.
All in all, I had a blast with Alessia, Ryan, and the entire wedding party. I loved getting to experience such a unique venue too!
